Shipping Policy

1. Overview

During the Kickstarter campaign, final production units are expected to start shipping in September this year. Until then, in-stock orders may ship from our U.S. fulfillment center to the contiguous United States. International shipping and regional timing will roll out as global distribution becomes available. You will always see estimated shipping options at checkout.

2. Order processing


We process orders within 1 to 2 business days. Orders placed on weekends or public holidays will start processing the next business day. During peak periods processing may take longer, and we will notify you by email if there is a material delay.

Shipping methods and estimated delivery times (United States example)
Note that these are estimates. Actual transit time can vary depending on origin, destination, customs, carrier capacity, and local last-mile delivery conditions.

1. Sea freight (economy, for preorders and bulk shipments)

  • Time to U.S. port: about 45 calendar days from departure.

  • Typical inland delivery to your door after port arrival: 3 to 10 business days, depending on courier and whether your address is urban or suburban/rural.

  • Total estimated door-to-door: roughly 48 to 55+ days.

2. Air freight (expedited for preorders or limited stock)

  • Time to U.S. port or air hub: about 7 calendar days from departure.

  • Typical inland delivery after arrival: 1 to 5 business days, depending on carrier and local delivery conditions.

  • Total estimated door-to-door: roughly 8 to 12 days.

3. Domestic express (in-stock items shipped from a U.S. warehouse)

  • Typical delivery: 2 to 7 business days depending on carrier (FedEx, UPS, USPS) and destination.

3. Shipping fees and preorders

On launch day, we will offer a free shipping promotion on Kickstarter. As long as you complete your preorder within the first 24 hours of launch, you will receive free shipping, no matter your time zone. After this period, a flat 80 dollar shipping fee will be applied to all orders worldwide to ensure we can work with reliable, high quality logistics partners.

Shipping fees vary by product, shipping method, and destination. At checkout you will see the available shipping options and exact costs. 

4. Customs, duties, and taxes

Depending on your country, customs duties or import taxes may apply. xLean will cover most customs duties and trade taxes in many countries and regions, but in places where local taxes such as VAT or sales tax are required, backers may still need to pay those amounts according to local regulations.

We are doing this because many Kickstarter projects end up creating extra costs at delivery, and we want to take care of that upfront as a way of thanking our backers for their support before we even launch on Kickstarter.

5. Shipment confirmation and tracking


After your order ships you will receive a confirmation email with tracking information. Tracking updates for sea freight may take several days to appear as containers move through ports and customs. If tracking is not updated within the expected window, contact support and we will investigate.

6. Address accuracy and delivery restrictions


Please make sure your shipping address is complete and accurate. We do not ship to P.O. Boxes, APO/FPO/DPO addresses, or certain remote territories unless explicitly offered at checkout. xLean is not responsible for delays or losses due to incorrect shipping information provided by the customer.

7. Damages, lost or delayed shipments


If your package arrives damaged, please keep all packaging and contact support within 5 business days with photos and descriptions. For lost or significantly delayed shipments, contact support service@xlean.ai and we will work with the carrier to resolve the issue. For shipments damaged in transit, we will assist you with a carrier claim.

8. Returns and refunds


Return instructions and eligibility are covered under our Return and Refund Policy. For return or refund questions related to shipping, contact support.

9. Important notes for preorder customers


Preorders are subject to the production and shipping schedule posted on the product page. Preorder arrivals internally follow the sea or air timelines above. We recommend reviewing the specific preorder terms on the product page for lead times, shipping method options, and any refund or cancellation rules.
